For an ounce of Silence
I've never really been a loud person I guess, but Silence seems to have taken on a almost reverential place in my life. The phrase "Silence is golden" seems to really make sense. Granted, I would actually pay gold/money for silence, because money isn't as common as one would like it to be, but the idea is very tempting. I live for nap time....the babies sleeping in their room and I can go in and just work on whatever project I am doing or so rest myself in silence. Or as near silence you can get with a road 10 feet from your bedroom window and noisy neighbors upstairs and beside as well. It was strange, Jonathan was home last week during Christmas break and just having him here changed the quality of the silence so it wasn't quite the same, and thus not as restful. Strange. I've heard of certain smells and certain foods relaxing people, and even sounds (that's how you get babies to sleep when they're little, sing the same songs over and over), but a certain kind of silence? Whatever. I just know I enjoy it.
